Aqualane Shores features about 350 homes sites and was one of the first areas to be developed. The first fill and dredging operation was launched starting in 1949, the same year Naples, Florida became an official city and is prominently positioned at the southern tip of Naples, Florida proper strategically between the areas of Port Royal and Old Naples.

The first homes were completed in 1950. Since 2013, this location has been a neighborhood where tear-down and new construction is considered commonplace.
