Boating in Naples has been enjoyed for decades, due to its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. Naples was founded in the 1880s, and boating and fishing have been a large part of its culture ever since. It’s part of what makes living in Naples so captivating – the proximity to the ocean and the ability to head out on your boat whenever you like.

Naples Boating Communities

Port Royal

The most luxurious Naples boating community is Port Royal where homes with large waterfront footage and deep canals take precedence. Port Royal lots started selling in 1956 at just over $10,000. Properties in this area go for a sizable amount now as there is a high value placed on the beautiful view provided by these spacious waterfront properties.
Many of the original houses built in Port Royal have been demolished to make way for magnificent new residences. Most of the homes are estate-sized and luxurious. Lots offering at least 100 feet of waterfront are considered the most attractive. Houses on large lots are therefore highly sought after in this community.
Boaters will appreciate that most of the places come with a space for your boat. Head out onto the seas for a boating adventure straight from your home.

Royal Harbor

You’ll find Royal Harbor on the east side of Naples, which is also a community popular with boaters. As one of the original Naples boating real estate communities, construction began there in the 1950s. This area is known for its more affordable homes that still come with a boating lifestyle.
Boating enthusiasts love this location due to its placement on the Bay of Naples. It offers access to the Gulf of Mexico with no bridges or barriers.
The depth of the waters around Royal Harbor varies greatly, so be careful when selecting your property as some boat docks are too shallow for larger boats.

Condominiums

For something a little more maintenance-free, check out Naples boating condominiums. Multiple neighborhoods offer condos with boating access, such as Aqua, Park Shore, Pelican Isle, Vanderbilt Beach, and Windstar. Condos are a great option for those who don’t want to rent and also don’t want all the upkeep that comes with an estate-sized home.
