If you’re considering a purchase in the Naples Royal Harbor area and quick beach access is important, here are some of the best beach opportunities you should consider.

The Beaches in Olde Naples

The quickest access to the closest beaches by car or bike is located in Olde Naples. The easiest alternative is heading west down Tamiami Trail East and continuing down 5th Avenue to the beach. Remember, you will want to obtain a beach parking sticker to avoid parking fees. Parking availability is limited, so you will want to get there early for the best availability. If it’s too crowded around 5th, there is a parking lot at the corner of 12th Avenue South and Gulf Shore Boulevard. There are also parking spots located on the beach blocks of most East/West Streets.

Naples Beaches By Boat

One of the best aspects of living on the water in Royal Harbor allows access to some of the best beaches in all of Southwest Florida, not accessible by car. For example, a short boat ride through Naples Bay provides access to Key Waydin Island, perhaps the most popular beach location only accessible by boat or helicopter. While there are no restrooms or restaurant facilities on the island, boats with food options frequent the locale quite often. Catch the food boats for ice cream and other casual food options. Favorite activities include shelling along the vacant shores of Key Waydin on the Gulf or floating down Marco Pass. Depending on the tide the water moves in different directions, which means you can chat with the other boating enthusiasts one way and as the tide shifts, float the other way and meet the rest of the group later in the day. Key Waydin can often be an area where day drinking occurs. If you have young children and are looking for a more family-friendly environment, the Gulf side of Keewaydin might be more appropriate, or perhaps venture further south to 10,000 islands for a more private setting.

Other Naples Beaches

There are several beaches in Naples including Lowdermilk Park in Coquina Sands, Via Miramar and Horizon Way Beach in Moorings. If you’re looking for fun activities like parasailing and a younger crowd, you might consider Vanderbilt Beach. You can pop into The Ritz Carlton’s Gumbo Limbo for a fabulous lunch or sunset cocktail.

Stay Tuned For Beach Information

To make the most out of your beach day, you’ll want to keep your eye on the weather and other information that can help you decide the best days to go to the beach. For example, water quality reports and tide dangers can easily be determined by visiting the Collier County website. There are also various beach cams where you can see the activity for yourself.
